This room is definitely a high-low design.  The homeowner chose to spend more on the permanent furnishings in neutral fabrics.  The coffee table was the big splurge item.  Both functional and comfortable, the distressed black leather coffee table provides a comfy place to rest your feet.  It was found at Matter of Design, a gem of a design store in Hudson, Ohio.  MOD has really cool, modern furnishings.  I love that they offer furniture and accessories that are locally made.  Their offerings of artwork and wall decor is impressive as well.  Swivel chairs were chosen to accommodate both conversation and movie watching. The swing arm Jonathan Adler lamp behind the chairs provides ample lighting for reading or knitting.

The photos below are from the summer, which highlights light, airy drapes.  The homeowner switches out the the drapery in the colder months, preferring darker, crushed velvet fabric.
